Albert Einstein:
“Things should be made as simple as possible, but not any simpler.”

Albert Einstein:
“Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.”

Arthur C. Clarke:
“The First Clarke Law states, ‘If an elderly but distinguished scientist says that something is possible he is almost certainly right, but if he says that it is impossible he is very probably wrong.’”

Isaac Asimov:
“[W]hen people thought the Earth was flat, they were wrong. When people thought the Earth was spherical they were wrong. But if you think that thinking the Earth is spherical is just as wrong as thinking the Earth is flat, then your view is wronger than both of them put together.”

Hail MidPhase

I want to take a moment to sing the praises of my hosting provider, MidPhase.

I’ve been with midPhase for just over a year now. In that time i’ve had 7 reasons to contact their customer support service. Some of the issues were minor (I needed the path name for an internal application) to major (several email servers had tagged my domain as an originator of spam).

In each case, I recieved a reply in less than 6 hours, and a resolution in less than 48 hours — and last night, at midnight on a Sunday, I got my reply back in less than 5 minutes. This wasn’t an automated reply, it was a real live technician who solved the issue immediately.

In addition to top-notch service and support, I get 15 GB of storage space, 500 GB of bandwidth per month, and a domain name. All this for $7.95 per month.

Overall, I highly recommend MidPhase, and I encourage anyone who is thinking of getting their own domain, or is considering switching, to take a close look at them.

Gravatars

I have enabled gravatars on my blog. The default one that I added is way cool!

But if you decide you want your own, go sign up. Its actually a pretty neat concept, and it works on any blog that you go to (provided the blog has enabled gravatars, of course).

Flasher in the Rye

According to various sources, the beach flasher has returned to Rye, NH. I only mention this to point out that I was visiting my sick old granny in the hospital during this incident.

Actually, I have a friend who is a flasher. He was going to quit, but he decided to stick it out for another year. :)

Rainbow Over Our Home

We can bitch about all the rain we’ve gotten this year, but today we got a happy reminder that even rain can bring good things.
