The wife and I decided that we should downgrade to a mobile home, so we are now in the process of trying to sell our house. This last weekend was busy as we started the process of filing everything we own into 4 piles: Keep, Recycle, Sell, Throw Away.
Of course you never realize how much stuff you have until you try to file and categorize it all. After an entire weekend of working on this project, I feel like we’ve barely made a dent.
The rewards should be worth it, though. We bought the house for $72,000 eight years ago. In today’s market, the house is worth about $140,000. After we sell the house and pay off both mortgages, and subtract commission, we should have about $20,000 to make a down-payment on a nice, double-wide mobile home.
We’ll see how it goes. . .
