I haven’t done a pipe-smoking post in a while. Particularly since about half of my hits from Google and Yahoo are from people searching for Pipe Smoking Women.
So, to keep the masses happy, I will try to make at least one pipe-smoking related post per month. . .
. . . preferably one that involves women.

That’s funny. The wife has a pic of her smoking a cigar on her flickr account and it’s got the most hits of any pic we have. Even including the adorable cat pics that have been in multiple cat carnivals.

I came to look because I’m a lady who loves the smell of pipe tobacco and has long considered trying a pipe, but doesn’t want to appear “butch.” Getting a Ph.D., being an outspoken blogger, etc., have never made me feel unfeminine in the slightest, but a pipe is a different story. Seeing pictures of other ladies whose femininity is not at all diminished by a pipe makes me more interested in trying it. (BTW, I can’t stand cigarettes and would never consider smoking one, but pipe tobacco has an entirely different smell.)

It is perfectly appropriate to smoke a pipe while completing ones dissertation. It comes the nerves, soothes the soul, and aids one in finding the deeper meaning. Oh, yes, and there are a number of women who enjoy pipes, a small number it is true, but they are among the most distinctive.

There is nothing sexual about seeing a woman smoke a tobacco pipe. I know why men that smoke pipe tobacco find women such as yourself appealing… An educated/refined man tends to get excited by seeing a woman with a similar habit and seeks to meet, get to know, mate, etc. because he hopes that he has found an equal.
