We got a blizzard yesterday. Several feet of snow (okay, at least a foot, but it was drifting alot) and all the schools were closed. Even my workplace, which NEVER does snow days gave employees the option of leaving work at 2:00 so they could get home safely.

We’ve got, like, an inch of snow in Toronto. I’m not sure I could describe it, though, since it’s so hard to find.
But still, it beats the hell out of the 20-foot drifts we used to get in Duluth, MN!

Isn’t Toronto further north than Duluth? This year has been incredibly mild in terms of snowfall. This is our first real snow (the kind that actually sticks around for more than a day) of the season. Usually about this time we’ve had at least 2 snow storms. This season, not only has it hardly snowed, we had a week in January where it was around 60 degrees!
The climate is so messed up, I won’t be surprised if we get a snowstorm in June this year.

Oooh, lucky duck! I am happy we finally got some white stuff, but no snow day for me. Hope you spent it well.

Naw. Duluth is North of >70% of the Canadian population. Besides, on Superior the North Shore gets all the snow. Not so here. We get a lot of wind, but little cold and wet.
If not for the stiff breeze nine days out of ten, the weather here could be described as balmy!

Although we didn’t close, several people called in (their kids were off school) and lots of people went home early. I had planned to leave early (to get an early start to shoveling) but as usual, I eneded up staying later than a regular 9 hour day.

We got so much snow when we were in Vermont.
