Now that work and school are done, I have time to fix the mess that is this blog. As mentioned in my previous post, there was a major malfunction which wiped out a whole lot of stuff.
Time to fix. Yay!

Okay. Had a major problem with this blog. I accidentally deleted the entire thing.
Don’t ask
So I had to restore a backup. Sadly the latest backup was from February 11th. This sucks on a number of levels.
I missed the Inauguration ceremonies. Not that I cared about most of it, but it would have been nice to see the swearing-in of the new president Live. It was a truly historic moment.
My wife is having massive back-pains so I made dinner last night. Started making chicken tenders and creamed corn. Burned the creamed corn somehow, so we had chicken tenders and green beans, although I ate some of the burnt creamed corn just to prove it wasn’t that bad.
It was.
Today i’ve decided to start a new diet, since the diet I’ve been on since New Years has only lost me 1 pound. This new diet is called the Every Other Day (EOD) Diet. The idea is that on “Feast” days, you eat what you want (you aren’t supposed to go out of your way to stuff yourself, but you just eat what you normally would if you weren’t dieting). On “Fast” days you don’t eat anything (although you are allowed sugarless gum and diet sodas – and water of course).
I’ve actually done some research on this diet.
The advantages are:
Disadvantages:
So, what else is going on. . .
Work is work. We’ve been a bit busy. I’m doing a lot of viscosity and density measurments. Doing some other work involving inks as well, but I fear to go into details because I don’t want to get “Deuced” (for those who don’t know, getting “Deuced” means getting fired for things you write on your blog — apparently it happens often enough for them to have come up with a term for it).
Lastly. Amber is leaving for college again on Sunday. We’ll miss her for the most part.
From my traffic logs, I’ve noticed that most of you are not landing on the page you are looking for. This is because my permalinks have changed and Google hasn’t figured that out yet.
Try searching for your term in the search box to the left. This should get you where you want to go.
I’ve had this blog for 4 years now and I often get one or two posts that get a ton of comments and traffic.
This year its been this post: Alcohol.
For those who don’t like to click on links (thats most of you I’ll bet), its just a funny “motivational poster” featuring the girl that plays Hermione in the Harry Potter movies posing with a bottle of Corona. I posted in in November of 2007. Here’s the image:

For reasons unfathomable to me, this post not only gets legitimate comments on a regular basis, but also attracts a huge amount of spam comments (my spam filter catches most of these). I assume that this post appears on a google search or something, because these people don’t stick around to read my brilliant prose. They just comment on this dumb picture and then leave.
A sampling of comments:
I think Hermione is really a bad influence to young children if they ever see this but I do think this is damn sexy and I would love for her to hang out with me we would have a blast of magical fun.
. . .This would be creepy but the commenter was a woman. Nah, its still creepy.

. . .Because we all know drinking leads directly to crack use.
