Ice Storm nails New Hampshire

Nasty ice storm nailed the region last night and this morning. Thousands are without power. The place I live dodged the bullet for the most part but there are people in towns all around us that are without power and may be without power for days.

25,644 lit jack-o’-lanterns

That was the final count at 8:30pm on Saturday night, October 20th, 2007.

Although Keene failed to beat the record, now held by Boston with 30,132 carved pumpkins, it was a big win for the city with people coming from all over the country to enjoy the festivities. You can read more at the Keene Sentinel’sPumpkin Festival Page.

We got a blizzard yesterday. Several feet of snow (okay, at least a foot, but it was drifting alot) and all the schools were closed. Even my workplace, which NEVER does snow days gave employees the option of leaving work at 2:00 so they could get home safely.

Amber and I went to see Hillary Clinton at Keene High School tonight. It was great seeing her up close and in person. I was impressed with her openness and clarity of vision. She didn’t just speak about what a poor job Bush has done. She had some clear plans to try to correct some of the damage that Bush has done. She was able to articulate some specific details on the Iraq crisis, healthcare, education, and many other issues.
